SMSID (smsid.co.uk) provides SMS and messaging services. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
We use your data to provide and operate the service, route and bill messages, prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations, and communicate with you about your account.
We rely on contract (to deliver the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement), and legal obligation where applicable.
We share message data with mobile network operators and our upstream messaging carrier solely to deliver your messages, and with our payment provider to process top-ups. We do not sell personal data.
When you send messages, the content and recipient numbers you supply are transmitted to carriers for delivery. You are the controller of that recipient data; see our Data Processing Policy.
We retain account and message logs for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements, after which data is deleted or anonymised.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
We use HTTPS, encryption of sensitive secrets at rest, hashed passwords, access controls and rate limiting to protect data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
